About Us

Our Story

Founded in 2000, Living Hope is a dedicated non-governmental organization focused on the holistic development of marginalized communities. Our mission is to empower these communities to break the cycle of poverty through sustainable initiatives that address their critical needs and create lasting change. We focus on key areas such as Education, Healthcare, and Transformational Development, including Skill Development, Housing, and Renewable Energy. Currently, Living Hope operates in the Canning I and Canning II blocks, with our main campus located in Taldi Panchayat, just 45 km from Kolkata.

Diner Bondhu Christo Vidyalaya and After & Before school programmes have produced hundreds of confident students who are educated for life through its holistic approach to education. Today many of them are government officers, medical professionals, teachers, and on the whole, responsible citizens of our country.

Living Hope’s Grace Clinic has compassionately and effectively served hundreds of poor patients who suffer from different skin diseases, diabetes, gynecological problems, infant and child health issues, and various ailments, offering them the opportunity to receive proper treatment, guidance, and a chance for a better quality of life.

The Women Workforce Development program has successfully trained over 375 women in both technical and life skills, empowering them to recognize and realize their full potential as strong, capable individuals within their families and communities.

Over the past two years, the Adolescent Girls Empowerment Program has trained more than 100 confident young women, equipping them with vocational skills, spoken English, and a strong motivation to pursue and complete their tertiary education.

Infrastructure Development: School Sanitation Complex – In partnership with Dhananjay Kumar Singh, Living Hope has played a pivotal role in enhancing the learning environment for students by constructing essential toilet facilities in government schools. These facilities improve hygiene and contribute to better educational outcomes for children in underserved areas.

Housing Support for Differently-Abled Individuals: Permanent Housing Solutions – Living Hope, in partnership with Dhananjay Kumar Singh, has successfully constructed a permanent housing structure tailored to the needs of a differently-abled individual. This project highlights our commitment to inclusivity and accessibility, ensuring that all community members have a safe and supportive living environment.

During the COVID-19 lockdown, Living Hope distributed dry ration packets to 5,500 families and distributed Family Essential Kits to 1,860 suffering families.

In the aftermath of Cyclone Amphan, Living Hope acted swiftly to provide temporary shelters. We constructed 175 temporary shelters to offer immediate shelter support to those displaced by the disaster. As part of the Amphan response, we also distributed 7,468 Humanitarian Aid Kits to Amphan-affected families. This effort underscores our dedication to responding effectively to emergencies and supporting vulnerable populations during crises.
