Transformational Development

Work Force Development (WFD)

Living Hope provides life skills and technical training to empower underprivileged women, helping them lead lives of dignity and financial independence. Over the past six years, more than 375 women have successfully completed our training programs. Our target demographic includes women aged 18-45, with a focus on enhancing life skills based on frameworks developed by UNICEF, UNESCO, and WHO. The five core areas of our life skills framework are Self-Management, Interpersonal Skills, Critical Thinking, Work Readiness Skills, and Citizenship Skills.

Tailoring and Embroidery Unit

Quilt stitching and cloth embroidery are indigenous art forms of Bengal. Many young mothers and women, who are unable to leave their villages for work, have shown strong interest in learning tailoring. These women visit the Living Hope campus twice a week to receive training. Currently, 50 women are enrolled in the tailoring program. Those who learn quickly are able to secure home-based orders, allowing them to earn a sustainable income.

Adolescent Girls Empowerment Programme (AGEP)

The Adolescent Girls Empowerment Programme (AGEP) targets girls between the ages of 13 and 17. In rural areas, it is common for girls to marry at an early age, often before completing their secondary education or acquiring any employable skills. AGEP aims to educate these girls about their bodies, menstruation, rights, and financial literacy. The program also provides vocational training, spoken English, and computer literacy to equip them with the tools they need to make informed decisions regarding marriage, their health, and financial independence.

Ultimately, the goal of AGEP is to empower these girls to make confident, educated choices about their futures.
